10 Months

Two months.  That's all we have left until our little man has been with us for a year!  Can't believe it!!  He's DOUBLE DIGITS!  Our sweetheart is growing more and more every day.  This month especially has been tons of fun.  Samuel just started babbling ("bwah-bwah or buh-buh") a few days before he turned 10 months old!  It's the cutest thing!!  Some of Samuel's favorite activities these days include dancing when he hears music, crawling after Caleb, standing at his activity table and playing the music, unloading anything and everything (toys, cabinets, etc.), tearing (and occasionally eating) paper, crawling behind the recliner and looking out the window, and waiting for the dishwasher to open so he can try to play inside.  He also has a few things that he can do when we ask him to now - touch his hair, look for the fan, "rock the boat" (rock back and forth in his high chair), stick out his tongue (sometimes), and turn out the lights/fan.

Samuel is a happy baby when all is right . . . and very LOUDLY protests when something is not right!  We get comments in public often about how boisterous his voice is.  He is quick to let us know with a shriek, shout, or grunt when there's something he wants.  Mommy is still Sammy's favorite so as long as Mommy is close by he's a pretty content boy.

Samuel is still a pretty good eater although he's already more picky than Caleb ever was.  He nurses about 5 times a day (including once around 4:00 a.m.), eats solids 3x a day, and occasionally eats an afternoon snack.  He eats most everything, but definitely shows a preference for what he likes most (fruit) and eats all of that first before eating the other food we put on his tray.  This month Samuel has tried scrambled eggs, greek yogurt, roasted parsnips, artichoke, asparagus, cherries, guava, red peppers, onions, and Mommy's chicken spaghetti.  Unfortunately the guava gave him diaper rash just like mango does so we'll put that on hold but everything else went well.  He especially loved the chicken spaghetti and cherries!

Month 10 favorites:

• Daddy getting him up in the morning
• chasing Caleb and laughing at his silly noises
• going outside
• fruit
• opening cabinets
• tearing up paper
• unloading the paper recycle bin
• unloading all the toys from the bins in the play room
• pulling all of the books off of the book shelf
• unloading the lowest rack of the spice rack on the pantry door
• pulling snacks out of the snack bowl in the pantry
• pulling up to standing while holding on
• using his pincher grasp to pick up foods
• dancing
• shredding tissues

Month 10 dislikes:

• being tired
• having his diaper changed
• laying down
• consistently taking long naps
• being put down
• running out of fruit at mealtime
• not seeing Mommy
• dinner not being promptly served at 6:00 p.m. and bedtime promptly at 7:00 p.m.
• sleeping past 5:30 a.m.
• letting Mommy use the bathroom alone
